White-spotted Mouse Deer

The featuring the White-spotted Mouse Deer was issued in Sri Lanka in 1981. It was part of a stamp series called “Native Animals” that showcased various native wildlife species of Sri Lanka. This series aimed to raise awareness about the rich biodiversity and unique fauna found in the country.

The White-spotted Mouse Deer, scientifically known as Tragulus meminna, is a species of small hoofed mammal found in Sri Lanka. It is also known as the Sri Lankan Spotted Chevrotain or the Sri Lankan Mouse Deer.
